1Overview

Pixel Insight is an offline image-analysis tool. All image processing happens entirely on your device and your photos are never uploaded to any server. The app displays ads to support development, which may involve limited data sharing with our advertising partner as described below.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Pixel Insight accesses, how it is used, and the controls you have over it. By using Pixel Insight you agree to the practices described below.

2Data We Collect

Images You Select ✓ On-device only

Photos chosen from your library or captured with the camera are processed locally to extract technical metadata (dimensions, color profile, EXIF data, etc.). No image is ever uploaded to any server.

EXIF & GPS Metadata ✓ On-device only

If a photo contains embedded GPS coordinates, Pixel Insight reads them to generate a local map preview. This location data stays on your device and is never transmitted.

Analysis History ✓ On-device only

A local history of past analyses — including a small thumbnail and metadata summary — is stored in the app's Documents folder using Apple's secure archiving. This data never leaves your device.

Advertising Data Third-party

To serve ads, our advertising SDK (Appodeal) may collect device identifiers, IP address, and general usage signals. If you grant App Tracking Transparency permission, your IDFA may also be used to deliver personalized ads. See Section 3 for full details.

We do not collect: your name, email address, photos, precise location, biometric data, or any data unrelated to advertising.

3Advertising & Tracking

Pixel Insight is free and supported by in-app advertising powered by Appodeal. This section explains how advertising data is handled.

🔍 App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On iOS 14.5 and later, Apple requires apps to ask for your permission before tracking you across apps and websites owned by other companies. When you first launch Pixel Insight, you will see a system prompt asking whether to allow tracking. You are free to deny — the app works fully either way.

🎯 Personalized Ads (Tracking Allowed)

If you grant tracking permission, your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) may be shared with Appodeal and its advertising partners to deliver ads tailored to your interests based on your activity across other apps and websites.

📋 Non-Personalized Ads (Tracking Denied)

If you deny tracking permission, only contextual and non-personalized ads are shown. Appodeal may still collect limited non-identifying information (e.g., device type, OS version, approximate location derived from IP address) for ad delivery and fraud prevention.

📈 Ad Analytics

We use AppsFlyer to measure ad performance (e.g., installs and in-app events). AppsFlyer receives anonymized event data and does not receive your photos or analysis results.

You can change your tracking preference at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. For more on Appodeal's data practices, visit appodeal.com/privacy-policy. For AppsFlyer, visit appsflyer.com/legal/privacy-policy.

4Permissions We Request

📷 Camera

Used only when you tap "Camera" to capture a new image for analysis. The app does not access the camera at any other time.

🖼 Photo Library

Used to let you select an existing photo for analysis. Pixel Insight uses iOS's system photo picker (PHPickerViewController), which does not grant broad library access — only the specific image you choose is provided to the app.

📍 Location (When In Use)

Used solely to display a map thumbnail for photos that contain GPS metadata in their EXIF data. The app does not track your current location independently.

🔍 Tracking (ATT)

Requested to enable personalized advertising via Appodeal. Denying this permission has no impact on app functionality — you will simply see non-personalized ads.

You can revoke any permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security on your iPhone or iPad.

5How We Use Your Data

Data accessed by Pixel Insight is used exclusively for the following purposes:

Your image data is never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the analysis features listed above.

6Data Storage & Security

All locally stored data uses standard iOS file protection:

Advertising-related data (such as IDFA or device signals) is processed by Appodeal and AppsFlyer on their own servers, subject to their respective privacy policies.

7Third-Party Services

Apple Frameworks (all on-device, no data transmitted):

Vision / CoreImage / CoreLocation / MapKit / PhotosUI

Used for image analysis, GPS parsing, map rendering, and photo picking. No data leaves the device through these frameworks. See apple.com/privacy.

Third-Party SDKs:

Appodeal Advertising

Provides in-app advertising. May collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage signals. With ATT permission, may also use IDFA for ad personalization. Privacy policy: appodeal.com/privacy-policy

AppsFlyer Analytics

Measures marketing campaign performance using anonymized install and event data. Does not receive your photos or analysis results. Privacy policy: appsflyer.com/legal/privacy-policy

8Children's Privacy

Pixel Insight is not directed at children under 13. The app displays third-party advertisements which may not be suitable for younger audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the advertising SDK, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9Your Rights & Choices

10Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, the new version will be published at this URL and the effective date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of Pixel Insight after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
